The Magic Hat Ensemble formed in early 2006 after a series of informal jam sessions at a house in Manchester. They have developed a unique sound and approach to the jazz standard repertoire, which continues to delight, surprise and astonish audiences. The quintet take those jazz tunes we know and love and some we don't quite know (but soon learn to love) and turn them into epic, roller-coaster arrangements full of twists, turns and blistering solos that keep you on the edge of your seat.
